PLEASE be sure your child reads daily!! Many of the students are doing well with their accuracy but are slower on their fluency. Although we work very hard on sounding out words, also encourage them to look at the whole word first.
Fluency increases with Practice!

Books Not Returned
Several of my own "Room Library" books have not been returned. The students often ask if they can borrow my special books so I many times I buy an extra copy to be able to let them check out. Several years ago, I received a grant from Capital Reading Council for this project.
As you know, books can be quite expensive so please return any books with "Todd" on them.

FIELD DAY FUN
Field Day Needs:
1. We need additional "prizes" for our "Fish Pond." (dollar tree, party city, etc.)
2. We need additional parents to sign up to help us run our stations. Please send a note to your child’s teacher if you are available.
3. We are planning to add "Face Painting" to our Field Day event on June 14th. We are looking for boxes of "Watercolor" colored pencils. These colored pencils can be dipped in water and then used to draw on faces. These are different from regular colored pencils. They are sold in the same stores and aisles as regular colored pencils. If it is convenient, please consider sending in a box. Thank you.
4. We are looking for one or two "face painting" artists who would be willing to decorate all of our students.
5. We have had all of our "Otter Pops" donated already. We won’t need any more.
